Sherri Walsh

Counsel

Sherri is a litigator, arbitrator, adjudicator, and commissioner whose practice covers several areas of civil litigation including human rights, administrative, securities, and political law.

Sherri is frequently engaged to conduct harassment, sexual violence and respectful workplace investigations for businesses, post-secondary institutions, and sports organizations.  She is a member of the Investigation Unit for the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada.

Sherri has significant experience as a decision maker in administrative proceedings related to human rights, treaty land entitlement, and securities industry discipline matters.  She has acted as external counsel for the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, is a discipline panel chair for the Canadian Investment Regulatory Investigator (CIRO), is the Integrity Commissioner for the City of Winnipeg, is counsel to the Provincial Ethics Commissioner, and is the Municipal Codes of Conduct Appeals Director.  She was Commission Counsel to the Inquiry into the Circumstances Surrounding the Death of Phoenix Sinclair which Report was published in 2014.

Sherri has appeared at all levels of Court in Manitoba as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada.

In 2018, Sherri was admitted as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, becoming the first female in Manitoba to receive that recognition.
